The Horse and Jockey Inn is perfect for a celebration lunch or dinner, casual bar snack, or a drink after work in our lovely spacious, sunny garden bar. When you are visiting Matamata or the Hobbiton movie scene it is an ideal place to stay, with accommodation on site. We are right in the centre of Matamata, everything within walking distance.
We are open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sundays, with Gluten Free and Vegetarian options available. Our chef uses the freshest produce and prepares everything on site. For larger groups we can work with you to develop a menu to suit your needs, whether it is a set menu, finger food or buffet. Bookings recommended at weekends.
Our accommodation has been freshly refurbished, with 15 rooms, from single through to a family room. You will find our prices very affordable with tea and coffee making facilities on site and accommodation is open 7 days a week, although appointments are necessary for Monday nights.
Anniversary, birthday, family reunion, business meeting, we have a large venue and we can cater for any occasion.
